Swimming is a fun activity for many children. There is nothing like taking a cool dip in the pool when the temperatures of summer are rising. Here are three great games that children can play in the pool.

The first great game that can be played in the pool is called Marco Polo. One child is chosen to be Marco. All the other children are Polo’s. The child that is Marco closes his or her eyes for the portion of the game. When the child that is Marco, yells “Marco” all the other children have to yell “Polo.” Then the child that is Marco tries to tag the other children in the swimming pool by listening to where they are. When Marco tags another child the game is over. The person that was tagged becomes Marco.

Another great swimming pool game is called beach ball bonanza. Each child is given a huge beach ball to hold on to with their arms. The point of this game is to bump other players into touching the sides of the pool. The children cannot use their hands or feet to bump other children. If a child gets bumped into the wall, they must sit out of the game until the next round. The last child in the game wins.

The third top pool game is called diving for treasure. Pick one child to be the person that is it. They are the sea monster. Then throw fake gold coins into the swimming pool. The other children that are not the sea monster must try to dive for the gold coins without getting tagged by the sea monster. If they get tagged, they must drop the coin back into the water and wait ten seconds before joining the game again. The coins that are collected can be set in different piles by the edge of the pool. When all of the coins have been collected, the child with the most coins win!

Swimming can be a great activity for children. By playing these games, children will have hours of fun. They will never want to get out of the pool.

Swimming is a great way to lose weight and get fit. There is less chance of injury in the a swimming pool since movements are slower. Pool exercises are great for muscle pain and joint problems as well, while still offering a great workout. Exercising in a pool gives an all-over body workout, as it works out every muscle in the body. A few simple exercises can boost your weight loss and can leave you feeling productive.

Arm Curls

Stand with your feet a little less than shoulder-width apart. Hold a weight in each hand. Keep the elbows tucked in to the sides. Starting with the right arm, fully extended down at the side. Curl the arm up until the arm is fully curled with the weight almost touching the shoulder. Make sure that the elbow stays in and touching the side of the body through the entire movement. Breathe in as the arm is curled up and exhale as the arm is fully extended again. Switch to the left arm and repeat. Start with 5 reps for each arm. As it becomes easier, increase the number of reps.

Dolphin Kick

The dolphin kick is used for the butterfly stroke. Dolphin kicking is extremely difficult and works the entire body all at once. Use either a kick board or place the hands on the wall. Keep the knees and feet together. Using the hips and abs, kick with knees and feet together, so that the movement goes from the hips, down to the knees and then to the feet (similar as to how a dolphin moves in the water, in a wave motion). This exercise will maximize the use of the ab muscles, since they are used the entire time. Do this kick for at least a minute as hard as possible. Increase the time as the kick becomes easier.

Top 3 Water Sports for Families

Water sports are invigorating, but if you want family fun, make sure you bring your kids along with you. When kids get involved in water sports, not only do they become interested in a new hobby, but it will lead to them being more active. It will also give you a chance to spend more time with the ones you love. But with so many water sports out there, it’s difficult to decide which one to choose.

The most popular water sport out there today – whether it’s for families, couples, or individuals – is jet skiing. The primary reason jet skiing has become so popular is freedom. Instead of having a boat pull you, you control the speed and direction. Jet skiing is a popular family water sport because everyone can travel near one another while traveling at fast speeds and remain safe. Anyone – adults and kids alike – will find it to be an exhilarating experience.

Another popular water activity is tubing. Water skiing has led to many different types of sports on the water, and when it comes to families, tubing is by far the most popular. Tubes come in various sizes, from single tubes to large circular rafts that can fit several people. Instead of enjoying the water on your own, you can now experience the excitement of being pulled by a motor boat with others, which of course makes it more fun. Another reason tubing is so great is because everyone can talk about it after the activity is complete, which greatly improves communication between family members.

If jet skiing and tubing are a little too fast-paced for you or your kids, buy a paddle boat. Paddle boats are a good way to get exercise while communicating with others and enjoying scenery. It’s known as a relaxing water sport and is a great way to wind down after a busy day or week.

Unique Vacation Opportunities

When the time comes for you to spend your hard earned money on a vacation it would be nice to do something different from the norm. You, like most people, get set in your habits and routines and end up in the same old summer cottage or at the same old resort. While there is nothing wrong with the comfort those places have created for you, it is not always the most exciting vacation. So if you are going to be planning your next vacation, maybe you should think a little outside the box.

One of the best ways to enjoy a vacation is on a cruise ship. They have everything you could want–swimming in the ocean, swimming in a beautiful pool.  The food is amazing, they have shows and gambling, dancing and exercise opportunities. And at the end of it all you can dock and see amazing places like the Bahamas or Alaska. There is no shortage of cruises and if you take a peek online you can find cruise offers for next to nothing. It’s one of the best vacations you can plan and for a very reasonable price.

Warm places in the southern part of the United States always offers various activities year round.
If you have enjoyed much of the United States, perhaps it’s time to travel to Europe. There is more than enough to occupy yourself in the great sights and sounds of Europe. There is the culture of England, the food of Italy, the fine wines of France, and the history of ancient Greece. Imagine swimming in the clear waters of the French Riviera or swimming off the Greek coast. It’s a wonderful way to spend your days. The price might be a little heavy for you but if you decide to make this the two year vacation you have always wanted then it becomes much more affordable. Talking to a local travel agent can lead you in the direction of an amazing overseas vacation that you will be talking about for years to come.

Credit Counseling: How Does it Work?

If you’re struggling to pay your bills there are people who can help you. You can get loans, borrow from friends or family, or sell things. You may choose to give up some of your favorite activities such as swimming, running, eating out. While  these activities especially swimming reduce stress, you may feel you can no longer afford them. Another way – and one of the best options – is to go through credit counseling. When you visit a credit counselor, you’ll be asked questions about your financial situation and you’ll be able to find out what he can do to help you get your financial life straightened out. A counselor can also work with your creditors, so that you aren’t paying out as much and your interest rates are lower. With lower rates, you’ll be able to pay less and still see your debt reduced each and every month.

A credit counselor can’t salvage your credit report, erase negative items that are legitimate, or get your debt wiped out. Only bankruptcy can wipe out debt, and that will destroy your credit for several years. Don’t let yourself go bankrupt, and don’t feel like you have to deal with calls and other forms of harassment from debt collectors. Instead, take yourself down to a credit counseling agency and start asking questions about what can be done in your situation. Depending on what you owe, to what companies, and what kinds of repayment terms you have, you may get minimal relief or a big change in your monthly payments.

You’ll pay the counseling agency each month, and then the agency will pay your creditors. That way you’re sure that the payments are getting there and you only have to make one payment. It can seem like you’re paying out a lot less when you have one payment instead of several. Ask about what kinds of fees and charges you’ll have to pay, as well. Some counseling agencies charge less than others charge, so be sure to find that out before you agree to let an agency help you.

Why Do Core Training?

Put down the remote, forget about bill consolidation and do something good for yourself! You know you’ve always wanted to start to work on your core strength, so here’s some information about core training and strengthening those abdominal muscles.

Your “core” is actually much more than just your abdominal muscles. The core is actually numerous muscles that stabilize the pelvis and spine. This muscle group also runs up the entire torso. It is the muscles group that makes it possible for humans to move on two feet and stand upright. These muscles also shift the body weight and movement in all directions. So in order to effectively strengthen your core, you need to condition and work this entire muscle group.

While experts don’t completely agree on which muscles comprise the core, general belief holds that the muscles the run the length of the torso and trunk are considered the core muscles. When these muscles contract they stabilize the pelvis and shoulders and well as stabilizing the spine.

If your core muscles are unbalanced and weak you may experience lower back pain. If these muscles are weak, you may also lose the proper back curve. With a strong core you can achieve better posture and reduce or eliminate back strain.

Because these core muscles provide spinal stability from the neck and shoulders to the pelvis, they allow for the powerful movements of legs and arms. These powerful movements do not originate in the arms and legs but rather from the center of the body, which is why the core must stabilize the spine and keep it solid.

Core strengthening can also correct posture problems than could cause injuries. Many experts agree that core training develops “functional fitness.” This is a fitness level that is essential to daily life and activities.

Get on a core training program today and you’ll soon be feeling the benefits through your entire body.
